My art quilts start in the dye studio. I use techniques of surface design including dyeing, discharge, screen-printing, and multiple resists. Although there is planning and intention in the application of color and marks, the joy is in discovering the paths that the dye takes. From there, stitching emphasizes the patterns and textures inherent in the cloth.
