In 2001 and 2002, I participated in Bumbershoot, Seattle’s music and arts festival over Labor Day Weekend. 2001 saw Whirlwind the Dragon leading giant puppet parades through the grounds and a public art booth where festival attendees could make masks and hand streamers. In 2002, I created butterfly giant puppets based on North American species for daily parades. I also designed small-scale butterfly puppets for a “make it and take it” public art booth.
