Panels of translucent silk organza, dyed in shades from ivory to deep brown, provide a visual metaphor for our diverse communities. We are all the same and yet, look closer and each of us is a unique combination of DNA and life-experience.
Each panel of fabric is uniquely patterned and colored, some boldly graphic and some more subtle. Where the fabrics overlap they create new patterns and textures which change like a moire as the viewer changes perspective. These patterns are created using bound-resist techniques including arashi and itajime shibori.
